Career History
Tony started his career in first team football at the tender age of 18 for Carlisle United. He went on to captain the team and made 300 appearances with the highlight being two wembley appearances. The latter appearance turning out to be a memorable experience with Tony saving two penalties in an enthralling 4-3 victory over Colchester United.

A move to Blackpool came around in 1998 were Tony went on to play 60 games over an 18 month period. A change in manager resulted in Tony’s decision to move on to the Premierships Charlton Athletic under Alan Curbishley. After spending a season on the fringes of the first team Tony received an offer he couldn’t refuse. Hibernian offered the chance of regular first team action and an opportunity to play European football. It also provided the chance to showcase his talents at Parkhead and Ibrox against old firm giants Celtic and Rangers.

After a two year stint north of the border Tony returned to the Premiership with Newcastle Utd. He spent three years at the club mostly as back up to Republic of Ireland stalwart Shay Given.

After some time as back up the chance to experience a new Country and culture arrived in the form of the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada. The first season proving to be a huge success with the team winning the U.S.L Championship and Tony setting a new clean sheets record.
