Scott Middlemass brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the South Jersey Barons Youth Academy. With his journey into Pro Soccer starting at the tender age of 16 as a apprentice at Carlisle Utd Football Club (England). He joined the Barons in 2001 from Norwegian side Fredrikstad. The Barons were then still a pro Team in the United Soccer League D3. He became the teams Defensive Player of the Year being and an ever present in the back four. He retired the following year due to re-occurring knee injury.
In 2003, Scott was the Barons Assistant Coach when the PDL team became only the 5th team in USL history to end the regular season unbeaten. He then stepped back from that part of the game to take up his new role as Technical Director of the South Jersey Barons/Banshees Youth Academy.
Scotts professional career spanned 12 Years and covered three continents. He had spells at Carlisle Utd (England), Preston North End (England), Torquay Utd (England), Northampton Town (England), Scarborough Town (England), Cambridge Utd (England), Cincinatti Riverhawks (USA), Coco Expo’s (USA), Foshan (China), and Fredrikstad (Norway).
Scott is a USSF and FA Licenced Coach and he holds the NSCAA Director of Coaching Dimploma. Scott overlooks all Youth Academy, Y-League, and Pre Super-Y teams. Scott is a Super Y-League Regional Coach and Scout. Scotts teams have in the past qualified for US Club Soccer and Super Y-League National Finals.
