Since the end of the 2004 season there has been some major changes in the Barons organization. The renaming and re-branding of the Barons senior men’s team will see the Barons return home to Carey Stadium to play all of its 2008 home games and will change the team name to your Ocean City Barons.

After three years of playing at different venues throughout South Jersey, this transition provides our professional organization and the great people of Ocean City, the opportunity for a tremendous partnership and great working relationship. A sponsorship with the Ocean City Barons is more than an investment in advertising: It is an investment in your community.

The Barons Communitey Driven Programs
It has always been the intention and philosophical vision to create as many opportunities as possible to put the Barons player further up the food chain. In creating opportunities otherwise not normally available to them, so much that over the past three years the Barons coaching staff has placed many of its graduating players into college programs and have raised through academic or athletic scholarship over 1.2 million dollars. Although this in itself is a fantastic achievement, the Barons coaching staff have, through hard work and commitment, managed to instill in these players a sound base of technical skills and tactical knowledge creating a national identity of excellence that is now automatically associated with the Barons organization.

The real breakthrough that the South Jersey Barons staff have made, is with the programs that many of you don’t hear about. These are the programs that have a different kind of impact on the South Jersey Community that could impact you indirectly. By partnering with various school districts, charity groups, and sponsoring organizations we have provided the creative programming to attract some of the less fortunate children in some of the inner city communities to look at sport and its participants as an alternative to some of their current activities. Our staff and some of our Senior P.D.L players, many of whom have come through our own system, go into these communities and put on clinics or programs that provide a stress-free, safe learning environment allowing the children to experience a different kind of adrenaline rush, one that associates with interacting with other children, called fun!

In some communities we attend school assemblies giving lectures as interactive sessions on drug awareness, tobacco and alcohol abuse through sessions we call "skills for life." These programs help the children identify their own dreams and ambitions and become positive role models themselves within their own community. In order for the Barons staff to continue to provide these quality programs we would normally partner with various organizations to sponsor our community-driven activities and we will hopefully continue to do so.

The funding and sponsorship that you will be providing will go a large way to creating a professional environment and opportunity to impact indirectly on the community and directly upon these young players who play a positive part with in our community.
