Top two are promoted to the Superliga

White becomes the first player from the Ocean City Barons to play in a top division Europe. The Superliga features teams like FC Copenhagen and Brondby IF. Copenhagen made headlines this past year when they upset Scottish powerhouse Celtic FC and Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League.
For the rest of the Barons, it was a slow week. The Vancouver Whitecaps and the Harrisburg City islanders had the week off.
Michael Todd started in last Friday’s 1-0 win at Montreal, where Byron Alvarez scored a dramatic 90th minute game-winning goal. On Sunday, the Battery were brought down to earth with a 5-2 drubbing at Rochester. Todd came off the bench late in the second half in the losing effort.
Down south, Miami FC held the Minnesota Thunder to a 1-1 draw. Patrick Hannigan made three saves in the game, and Chris Williams is still out of the lineup due to injury.
