On Tuesday, the 15th of May members of the Barons PDL team visited Ocean City Intermediate School. The group consisted of General Manager Neil Hollaway accompanied by his wife Joannne, Ocean City Barons’ President John Granese, players Leon Brown, Adam Ennis, Sean Boyle, Mick Galeski, Brad Peters and Lee Catchpole. However also lurking in the background was a surprise guest making his debut appearance for the public; Bobby the Boardwalk Baron.
After the players had been introduced to the 450 children in attendence, Neil Holloway got the kids into a frenzy by singing Bobby’s song, ’Fly Bobby Fly’. As the children belted out the song for the 4th or 5th time, Bobby entered into the spotlight. Bobby was loved and quickly took to the childrens’ hearts. A great time was enjoyed by all as Bobby and the players interacted with the children, signing autographs and getting their pictures taken. The children cherished their Barons memorabilia, as t-shirts and balls were handed out to them by the Barons.
Children spoke of how they can not wait to see Bobby and his Baron players at the next home game against Reading Rage on Tuesday, May 22nd. Bobby will be in attendance supporting his beloved Barons at Carey Stadium on 5th and Atlantic Avenue in Ocean City. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. and Bobby hopes you will attend and give the team your support as they go in search of another win.
