South Jersey Elite Barons (SJEB) is pleased to announce our Youth Development Program (YDP) provides professional instruction 2 times per week to players who want to learn proper techniques and fundamentals at an early age. Our YDP offers three levels, for children ranging from ages 4 through 9. This program is staffed with professionals providing the highest level of instruction in a fun yet structured environment for a low cost. Our YDP will not field travel teams for competition but will focus strictly on skills training and small-sided play. The YDP welcomes players who are playing travel for their township club program or SJEB who want to get more advanced training during the spring and fall seasons. [+]

The South Jersey Elite Barons U14 Boys Blue started the season with trip to the Spirit United Kick off tournament in Westchester, PA. The team played two PA teams in the group stage, drawing with TEYSA Hotspurs 2-2 and beating AC Perugia 3-2. Winning the group got them a Semi final match up against FC Revolution (PA) in what was their best performance of the tournament they won 5-2 with four of the goals spectacular efforts from outside the 18 yard box. Unfortunately the boys used up all their fire power in the semi-final and lost 2-0 in the final to Nether UTD FC (PA). Overall it was a good start to the U14 season and much more is expected from this group this year. The U13 Boys went 2-0-1 at Spirit, but did not advance from the group, loosing a PK shoot out with Smithtown to decide who went into the semi-final from their group.

"Battle of the Barons" fantasy soccer league will be getting under way this weekend and going into its sixth season. Last seasons champion John Thompson (U13 Boys & U17 Girls Head Coach) is back to defend his title and is looking for some competition, U13 Boys coach Scott Middlemass has already entered a stacked team, so sign up and see if you can match their managerial talents. The SJEB U16 Girls won their final tournament at the NSCAA/MSSL Summer College Showcase at Fort Dix. On Saturday stella team defence held their opponents to only two shots on target in two games. In game one the girls beat PWSI Courage (VA) 1-0, Kelly Schuitema getting the only goal with a sweet right foot strike. In game two they beat Lehigh Utd (PA), again Kelly Schuitema scoring the Banshees only goal. On Sunday they lost the last group game 3-2, however they had already qualified for the final. The final, against Lee Mt Vernon (VA) went to PK’s after a 0-0 draw. The girls won after GK Jess Moy saved the 8th penalty in sudden death. Congratulations on a great season.

The U-14 South Jersey Elite Barons played to a tremendous championship win at the MSSL Central Jersey Invitational at Fort Dix New Jersey this past weekend. With the heat blistering on the fields, so were the boys as they won five (5) out of five (5) games and did not concede a goal all weekend. The team scored eleven (11) goals this weekend to defeat tough opponents 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, and 2-0 in the semi final. At 6:00pm at night the boys had their third match of the day and fifth of the weekend for the final against Clifton Heights. The match ended in a 0-0 draw and went to penalty kicks. The Barons won on their fourth kick to take home the championship. Congratulations boys on a well deserved win. You all played exceptional and contributed to this team win.

South Jersey Elite Barons is proud to announce that we have been accepted to participate a new boy’s regional league sanctioned by US Club Soccer called the Atlantic Soccer League (ASL) that will begin play in November 2010. The mission of the ASL is to provide non US Soccer Development Academy clubs in the East coast region a high quality boys’ league in a showcase format that has significant games, limits expenses, and provides a platform for collegiate recruiting.

SJEB U16 Girls have won the premier group of the US Club Soccer Region B championship. The Girls won the group with a 1-1 tie and a 2-0 win over UPS Ocean (NJ #8) They would meet long time rival TSF Academy in the final, their past five matches had all finished in a 1-1 draw. SJEB took the lead one minute before half time when a speculative shot by Sarah Strang was mis-judged by the keeper and her shot went in off the post. Madison Hogan then made it 2-0 on the hour mark when she followed up a Katie Vechio shot. TSF would pile on the pressure and got a goal back from a wind assisted 40 yard free kick sailed into the top left hand corner. The Banshees fought off a 10 minute period of TSF pressure, but stella defending kept them at bay. The win means they qualified for the US Club Nationals on July 24th in Virginia Beach.

The SJ Elite Magic U13B won the Championship at the 35th annual Kirkwood Boys Premier Tournament. After starting off the Tournament with a 1-1 tie against Fredericksburg SC Phoenix Elite, the boys were victorious in their next two games by beating Wilmington United FC Rangers 2-1 and Kirkwood Liverpool 3-0. In the final, the boys got to revenge their tie and came up victorious beating Fredericksburg 2-0 and finished the tournament with a record of 3-0-1. Congratulations to the boys and Coach Wacker.

The U16 South Jersey Elite Banshees have won the their flight of the 2010 JAGS tournament held at Mercer County Park. The girls qualified from their group with a 5-0 win over Elite Soccer Academy (NJ), a 2-2 draw with Ramapo Valley (NYE) then beat Winslow Wizards 2-1 in a game where the winner would advance to the final. The Banshees would meet Alleycat Predators (NYE) in the final and dominated the first 20 minutes in which their opponents didnt cross the halfway line, however their first venture into the Banshees half led to a goal. The Banshees then equalised with 10 minutes remaining to take the game to OT. The Banshees came out fired up and within 2 minutes a through ball from Kristen Neidrach found Dannielle Spinuzza who streaked through and passed the ball into the bottom corner to take the title.

The South Jersey Elite Barons U16 Boys have won the 2010 Jersey Shore Champions Cup. They won the top bracket of the tournament, by coming top of a five team group. The boys need a win in the last game of the tournament to take the title and pulled it off thanks to goals by Tyler Arsenault, Dan Doyle, Mike Grossman, and Rob Vogel and assists by Mike Grossman and Mike Pingelski and Chris Stegmuller. The lads finished with at 2-2-1 record.
